How to use this component
Chat Window versus Fixed Chat Window
Our Chat interface currently can be surfaced in two different variants: Chat Window and Fixed Chat Window.
Chat Window
The Chat Window surfaces the Chat Window modal alongside a modal backdrop that covers the entire page. Use this variant in instances where the Chat interface is the main focus.

Fixed Chat Window
The Fixed Chat Window is displayed on the page alongside content that is already shown. This variant is to be used when the Chat interface is used when a user needs to see contextual information to help them interact with Chat, or if the Chat feature is not meant to disrupt the user’s flow within the page.

Surfacing the chat interface
Our Chat interfaced can be triggered in several different ways. You can use a Floating Action Button (FAB), to trigger our Fixed Chat Window or Chat Window.

You can also use our Input Bar component to trigger our Chat Window.
